Telerehabilitation may include any rehabilitation intervention that is delivered remotely via technology and may include the use of :

  • Telephone
  • Videoconferencing
  • Mobile apps
  • Wearable devices

Telerehabilitation is safe and feasible to be delivered in a cancer setting. Patients report high satisfaction engaging in cancer telerehabilitation.

Key advantages include:

  • Less travel
  • Better compliance with exercise programs
  • More comfortable and convenient
  • Ability to access services where they may otherwise not

Most telerehabilitation programs that have been evaluated have been in a 1:1 setting. However, there is increasing use of telerehabilitation being conducted in group settings.
