PhysioCaRe Training

Physiotherapy Cancer Rehabilitation (PhysioCaRe) is a 2-day training course developed by physiotherapists, for physiotherapists with support of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Pat Cosh Trust

Our team has recently developed PhysioCaRe training. This is a 2-day program to upskill physiotherapists to deliver cancer rehabilitation.

Who should attend? 

Any physiotherapist practicing in Australia, with an interest in cancer care who may provide interventions to people with cancer. You don’t have to be seeing patients with cancer every day to be eligible. Content will be relevant to clinicians working in any cancer setting including acute, sub-acute and community.

Educational Program
This training program will be provided across 2 days. Participants will learn about:

  • Cancer basics (e.g. physiology, terminology, treatments)
  • Safety
  • Assessment and management of cancer and treatment-related issues
  • Patient education
  • Communicating with patients
  • Assessing and prescribing exercise effectively
  • Running exercise classes
  • Integrating telehealth.
