PhysioCaRe Training

Our team has recently developed PhysioCaRe training. This is a 2-day program to upskill physiotherapists to deliver cancer rehabilitation.

Any physiotherapist practicing in Australia, with an interest in cancer care who may provide interventions to people with cancer. You don’t have to be seeing patients with cancer every day to be eligible. Content will be relevant to clinicians working in any cancer setting including acute, sub-acute and community. We particularly encourage private physiotherapists looking to diversify their skills with this growing patient population.

Educational Program
This training program will be provided across 2 days. Participants will learn about:

• Cancer basics (e.g. physiology, terminology, treatments)
• Safety
• Assessment and management of cancer and treatment-related issues
• Patient education
• Communicating with patients
• Assessing and prescribing exercise effectively
• Running exercise classes
• Integrating telehealth
• Implementing into practice

You will receive a comprehensive resource manual and access to online resources via our Learning Management System.
